Switzerland
The region known as Portes du Soleil (‘Gateway to the Sun’) is one of the most diverse and beautiful in Switzerland, stretching between Mont Blanc and Lake Geneva and surrounded by the jagged beauty of the Dents du Midi Mountains. It is home to the largest linked international ski domain in the world, with 650km of runs and 209 lifts crossing the border between Switzerland and France. Hikers have 800km of footpaths to choose from and it is a mountain biker’s heaven, with 380km of sign-posted paths and 24 lifts. In short, it is an extremely appealing outdoor destination in both summer and winter.
